New finance portal: t-online expands its business reporting

t-online is launching a new business and finance portal, www.t-online.de/finanzen/, where users can browse a comprehensive range of investment and financial content. This includes news, background reports, and free practical tools, for example an intuitive calculator for securities savings plans. The new portal offers information for novices, such as how much of an impact the interest rate on an investment has on their ability to hit their savings targets. Seasoned investors can access in-depth information based on analysis of equities, funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and a new and easy-to-understand way of presenting share prices.

“More and more people are taking an active interest in their finances, a trend that was evident even before the coronavirus crisis,” says Florian Harms, Editor-in-Chief at t-online. “Our new department enables us to expand our range of content and provide trustworthy service journalism, including for non-investors and the general public, in a clear and compact format that also features innovative applications.”

“With t-online, we can reach 60 percent of the German population, a large proportion of whom are not financial experts,” says Marc Schmitz, CEO of the Ströer Content Group. “We want to present the complex world of finance to these users in an informal manner and turn them into responsible investors.”

To support the new portal, t-online has set up its own business and finance department and is thus continuing to invest in editorial quality. Editorial responsibility lies with Florian Schmidt, Head of Business & Finance. Andreas Grunwald and Lutz Wengorz, who are the business and finance portal’s directors, are responsible for the concept and marketing. Both are more than familiar with the world of finance: Wengorz was previously Managing Director at stock market portal Finanztreff while Grunwald’s most recent role was Managing Director at financial IT service provider Smarthouse Adesso Financial Solutions.
